Pinkalicious Favour Bag

bag

I think I changed my mind a million times before finally settling on what I was going to make/use for the favours for Tasha’s party.  My first idea was to do this easy cute felt bag, then I saw this cute ruffle bag on Pinterest and thought “oh that’s cute!”. But, because I did change my mind so many time and had trouble deciding, I did not start making the actual bag until 2 days before the party, so I improvised and made this one instead, which is kind of a cross between the two other bags.

Favour bag

I bought 4 white canvas bags (you can get a set of 3 and then buy a single and use a coupon!) at Michaels and then I used some ribbon, fabric and felt that I had in my stash. I tried doing those cute rolled felt flowers but I tried making two (the morning of I might add. hah) and they did not really turn out that great and I did not have time to fiddle with them. So instead I printed out this lovely template by Make it and Love it and just did a bit of enlarging for the flowers to be the right size for my project. :0)

bag

It is a pretty easy bag to make. I simply serged all sides of my 4″ width fabric, ruffled it, sewed on the ribbon (I was originally going to just sew a stem with green thread but it’s a bit awkward sewing stuff on a bag that is already made) and then glue gunned on the leaves, added an eyelet to the flower layers and glue gunned those on as well. Did I mention I was adding the flowers and leaves the morning of the party? umm yeah. I’d suggest that you sew on the leaves and flowers. I mentioned to all the moms when I handed out the bags that the flowers ‘may’ not hold up to the washer/dryer and may have to be sewn back on.  IF I’d been on the ball, I would have totally sewn the flowers/leaves on, but..hey I work well under pressure and my trusty glue gun did the job just fine.

I included a pink lollipop in each favour bag that had a ‘thank you’ sticker on it but I still created this cute Thank You tag for each bag;

thank you tag

The card I found on Etsy, but the creator had a different image in the lower left corner, I believe it was of Pinkalicious with her wand. I was already using that elsewhere in the party favours so I googled and found Pinkalicious and Goldalicious and did a pit of editing in Photoshop to erase the original image and add this one.  I had “planned” to print “thank you” on the card using the font Giddy Up, but I forgot about it until the morning of, so I just wrote it on with pink marker. These were ones I printed out as a ‘test’ to make sure they printed ok.
